Morris-Jumel Mansion

Visit the oldest existing house in Manhattan (it was built in 1765). During the American Revolution, it served as headquarters for both sides. So, George Washington actually slept here. Guests at the house included: John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, and John Quincy Adams. Today, it serves as a house museum and is a great place to learn about early New York City history and the history of the foundation of our nation.
