National Archives

You will finally get to see documents that you have studied during history class. Head straight to the Rotunda for the Charters of Freedom and see the main documents that made America: the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. The space also holds other important American documents like the Louisiana Purchase Treaty and the Emancipation Proclamation. It even has a non-American document that influenced our Founding Fathers—a copy of the 1297 Magna Carta. Please take note: pictures are not allowed!
