Catacombs of Paris
While some may call Paris “the city of lights,” you can see the darker side of Paris when you descend into the city’s famous catacombs. Located in the ancient tunnels of former mines, the remains over six million people laid to rest here. You won’t be the only one curious about this creepy side of Paris—even France’s King Charles X visited the catacombs back in 1787. Just a heads-up—this place gets really packed with the living so make sure to get there early or buy tickets ahead of time.
